INVITATION TO JOIN THE IRONFAN REGISTRY AND BECOME A TEST SITE FOR THE 8-16 WKS DATABASE

We are inviting Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Radiologists, MFM, Sonologists and Geneticists to join our association by contributing cases to the IRONFAN database. Every additional case contributes significantly to the Registry.

Your cases will permit the achievement of additional outstanding goals such as:

1) establishing time-oriented models of the probability of detecting and missing certain fetal malformations and syndromes, according to the presence or absence of certain sonomarkers at different gestational ages.

2) categorize the 300 different types of fetal anomalies according to the IRONFAN Classification:

CLASS 1 - Anomalies with early onset at constant gestational age.

CLASS 2 - Transient Conditions

CLASS 3 - Anomalies with Variable Onset or Potentially Unstable Anomalies

CLASS 4 - Late Onset Anomalies.

 (See Ultrasound in Obstet.Gynecol 10:6,1997; 373-374),

3) expansion of our 8-16 weeks database to 16-40 weeks.

Submission of unpublished cases will not compromise any academic or educational use you may make of your own material. On the contrary, most articles in the previous cited journals were published after they were submitted to the IRONFAN and were deemed worthy of rapid publication

To incorporate your experience with fetal anomalies detected at the 8-16 weeks MA sonogram in our database, we would be grateful if you would report your cases on the attached IRONFAN QUESTIONNAIRE.

If you are an MFM specialist or ultrasonologist associated with a high risk OB center or a Radiologist specializing in obstetrical ultrasound and would like to become a test site for the IRONFAN Fetal SonoMapping™ Database, please report your experience using the questionnaire and check the appropriate box as indicated bellow.

IRONFAN data will be made accessible to our contributors through an open world-wide scientific e-network for prenatal data acquisition and review.

Thank you in advance for for helping us to build this new form of collaborative medical research – diagnosis in a network environment.
